This event was started by Sam & Shelby in 2007 after their daughter was a patient of Akron Children's Hospital's NICU. Their stay in the NICU made them realize the importance of being in a facility that provides outstanding care and a loving atmosphere. In response to this they wanted a way to give back and to help future families when they are faced with the roller-coaster ride that is associated with being in the NICU. So, in association with Akron Children's Hospital, the Snellenbergers created Walk for Babies, which has grown to raise more than $150,000 annually with 1,600+ walkers.
