2023 Walk For Babies

Team Jack

Jack was born 08.19.22 he was unexpectedly taken to the NICU right after birth due to being in distress which affected his breathing & having a hematoma on his head that they didnt know the severity of. His breathing almost instantly got better & after the hematoma being monitored for a day or 2 it was determined that it was not severe & would essentially go away on its own.

After that hurdle we thought we were on our way to bringing our boy home. The third night he was in the NICU I had gone home after being discharged & called to check up on him. We were told his blood sugar dropped to 32 & they weren't able to get it back to normal without putting his IV back in his poor little head & putting him back on IV fluids. After a long 8 days, his blood sugar leveled out, he took his bottles with no problem & we were able to take our boy home!

He was in the NICU for a total of 8 days which compared to some stays isn't even half but it was the longest 8 days of our lives & we couldn't have gotten through it without the NICU nurses & doctors.

We would love to do anything we can to give back to ACH NICU to show how much we appreciate them & to help the babies & their families!
