What is Walk for Babies?
Walk for Babies is an event that was started by an extremely thankful set pf parents after their child received such great care in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Akron Children’s Hospital. It didn’t take long to find hundreds of other families that felt the same way. We all work together to say thanks & to raise money for the NICU at Akron Children’s Hospital. Because Walk for Babies is a local organization, with no paid employees, 100% of your contribution will benefit the NICU at Akron Children’s Hospital.

What will 2022 look like?
This year we’re excited for Walk for Babies to take place back at the Akron Zoo where it all started so many years ago! Our presenting sponsor, Kaulig Giving & Akron Children’s Hospital are dedicated to making this year’s event another memorable one for all the families, friends & children who have been directly impacted, touched, & cared for by the NICU at Akron Children’s. In 2020, we proudly raised $71,150 through our first ever virtual event with 50 teams. This past year 2021 has been a stark reminder to all of us of the significance of having the supplies and equipment necessary to care for our most at risk patients. 2021 worked on the implementation of the NICView cameras in Akron General and other locations. They also worked to achieve another ventilator for the NICU.
