Thank you for taking the time to visit my personal fundraising page as I participate in the 2019 Piano-a-thon to benefit the John C. & Elaine Thompson Endowment for Music Therapy at Akron Children’s Hospital.
As I progress in my fundraising endeavors, practice my pieces and get ready for my performance, I hope that you check back frequently for updates and stories of patients in our communities. My cousin, Parker, was one of those stories when he was rushed here six years ago on Thanksgiving eve for appendicitis. My family and I spent Thanksgiving with this warm hospitable staff who comforted us, as doctors performed successful surgery on Parker’s ruptured appendix. Boy, did we have much to be thankful for that year, especially those devoted pediatric doctors and nurses who sacrificed the holiday with their family to help our family! Parker is now an active 13 year old teen, who loves playing lacrosse in Hudson. My brother, too, was a NICU baby (at another hospital), my parents are forever grateful to all the pediatric nurses and doctors who helped during his scary first week of life. Now, we’d like to give back to those compassionate doctors and nurses who supported and healed my loved ones. Through gifts like yours, the hospital is able to purchase vital medical equipment, offer programs that bring extra comfort to families during difficult times and fund innovative research that helps identify new ways of diagnosing and treating illnesses.
Thank you for your support of Akron Children’s mission and dedication to improving the health of the communities served.
