Kaulig Companies Raising Funds for Life Saving Equipment

Thank you for taking the time to visit Kaulig Companies's fundraising page. Please consider a donation to support the purchase of new Servo N Ventilators for the Neonatal Patients at Akron Children's Hospital.
On average, a newborn baby takes 30 to 60 breaths per minute. However, as many people see breathing as an effortless, natural bodily process, many babies are not able to breathe on their own. That is where Akron Children’s Hospital steps in to make a difference.
Finding the right level of ventilatory support without over or under assisting the neonate is a delicate balance of evidenced based medicine and innovative technology. The last item to develop in utero is the lungs; therefore it is imperative that we protecting their lungs, brain and other developing organs at the same time we are helping them grow.
Neurally Adjusted Ventilatory Assist (NAVA) is a mode of ventilation offered with this ventilator that ensures the best level of support in neonates. This mode measures the electrical activity of the diaphragm (Edi) and displays it on-screen. This vital sign of respiration can assist us with identifying the best level of support at all times during the mode of ventilation. NAVA and non-invasive NAVA (NIV NAVA) uses the neonate’s own diaphragm to drive the ventilation.
We recognize the importance of their mission and respect their inspiring dedication to provide babies with state-of-the-art ventilators for those who need extra help breathing. These lifesaving ventilators will gift each baby with a sense of comfort and relaxation during one of the most difficult times in their lives and especially when it is needed the most.
