Help us share good cheer as we run for the PICU!
Thank you for taking the time to visit our personal fundraising page benefiting Santa PICsU and The Good Cheer Fund of Akron Children's Hospital
About the Runners:
Beginning in 2020, Maria Bossard has been a PICU RN honored with the role of patient care, intervention management, and patient/family advocate. While some days in the PICU bring tragedy and pain, others bring success and miracles, all of which are mourned and celebrated as a team. For most of Maria’s life, running has always been a source of comfort on the good days but especially the bad days. As each of her patients have been faced with a challenge, Maria is challenging herself to run 50 miles to honor their strength and determination.
Aaron Graham has been involved with the Akron Children’s Hospital Foundation since 2019 and has chaired the Engage Committee since 2020.
About the Fundraising:
Santa PICsU pledges to bring the healing power of giving to children and families in traumatic situations on a year-round basis with larger donations directed to The Good Cheer Fund which allows for smaller purchases for the PICU throughout the year.
Together, we are raising funds as we prepare to run 16th Annual Burning River Endurance Run & Relay. The 50-mile trail race is held every year in late July and travels through several of the region’s most scenic areas, including the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and the Summit Metro Parks.
Through gifts like yours, the hospital is able to purchase vital medical equipment, offer programs that bring extra comfort to families during difficult times and fund innovative research that helps identify new ways of diagnosing and treating illnesses.
Thank you for your support of Akron Children’s mission and dedication to improving the health of the communities served.
