Community Fundraiser

Who is a community fundraiser?

A community fundraiser is any external individual(s) or organization that raises funds for Akron Children's Hospital. Anyone in the community can become a community fundraiser. This can range from schools, businesses, private foundations and grateful patients and families, who are interested in holding independent fundraisers in support of the hospital.

From bake sales to galas, to golf outings and anything in between, any fundraising event can make a difference at Akron Children’s and the foundation team is available to help along the way.

How will members of the community benefit from the funds raised?

Funds raised through the Community Fundraiser program have gone to benefit multiple areas of Akron Children's Hospital. Below is a brief list, if you have a specific designation in mind, contact the foundation staff.

  • Akron Children's Hospital Children's Fund (donations are dedicated to the area of greatest need)
  • Akron Children's Hospital Toy Fund
  • The Paul and Carol David Burn Center
  • The Showers Family Center of Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders
  • Palliative Care
  • Expressive Therapy

If you are interested in holding an event to raise funds to accompany your online fundraising, please contact the special events team at the foundation office for more information and a Community Fundraiser Toolkit.
