Marci Matthews endows chair for excellence in burn care with $1 million gift

The Marci M. Matthews Endowed Chair for Excellence in Burn Care is one of few endowed chairs of its kind in the world and will be held by Dr. Anjay Khandelwal.

Thank you to Youngstown State University, Kent State University, the University of Akron, Walsh University, the University of Mount Union and a few area high schools for hosting Dance Marathon fundraisers this year. Combined, the students raised more than $130,00 for the hospital.

Akron Children’s named Dr. Michael Forbes chief academic officer, a new position that will oversee and align the hospital’s research and medical education strategies. The position is an endowed chair made possible by a $1 million gift from Bill and Becky Considine. Read more →

The Women's Board of Akron Children's Hospital is looking for hosts to help welcome back the Celebrate the Plate fundraiser this May with a new format - A Night of 100 Dinners. Read more →
