Akron Children's Hospital continues work in providing the COVID-19 vaccine to the community

With the support of donors like Signet Jewelers, Akron Children’s was able to provide numerous on-site clinics for our school partners to get their staff vaccinated. The hospital has continued its efforts in making COVID-19 vaccines accessible to the community, and has started traveling to area high schools to offer vaccines to students age 16 and older.

Thanks to the continued support of donors and the community, the 2020 Holiday Tree Festival recently presented a $100,000 donation to Akron Children’s Hospital President and CEO Grace Wakulchik. Read more →

To close out the 2021 college Dance Marathon “season,” Walsh University held its annual Cavathon fundraising event. During their 12-hour event, students raised more than $18,000 for Akron Children’s patients and families. Read more →

Akron Children’s international work was highlighted in a film at this year’s Cleveland International Film Festival. “Open Hearts” follows the hospital’s team as they perform life-saving heart surgeries on children in Haiti in 2017. Read more →

Thanks to Gerber, new moms in the community will be receiving backpacks full of useful items. These donated goodie bags will be distributed to Akron Children's NICU moms and through community outreach events. Read more →
