Mitochondrial diseases are long-term, genetic disorders that keeps mitochondria from producing enough energy for the body to function properly which impacts growth, development and lifespan.

The Mitochondrial Center is one of only six pediatric hospitals in the U.S. designated a Center of Excellence by the United Mitochondrial Association and one of only 15 mitochondrial care centers in the North American Mitochondrial Disease Consortium.

Thanks to your donation, the Mitochondrial Center will continue to treat children who are living with mitochondrial disease while advancing research and innovation in the treatment of mitochondrial diseases.
